The horse racetrack, located in the woods on Düsseldorf's hill Grafenberg, is probably the most beautiful racecourse in Germany. This facility is characterised by a unique and exclusive ambience and a special course layout with a hill.

Düsseldorf has also developed into a premium track in sporting terms and is increasingly becoming the focus of international racing interest. A total of 5 group races are now held in Düsseldorf.

The highlight is the ‘Henkel - Preis der Diana’ (German Oaks, European Gr.1). With the ‘German 1000 Guineas’ (Gr.2), a second ‘classic’ takes place on the Grafenberg.

Grafenberg racecourse not only organises horse races but also trains racehorses very successfully all year round. The training centre includes a 2,000-metre sand training track, two trotting rings, an indoor riding arena, a training starting machine and, of course, the legendary grass track, which is carefully maintained all year round for the perfect gallop.

In total, the Düsseldorf training centre offers space for 150 racehorses.

We will enjoy a guided tour, by a former jockey, through the premises, and will be able to watch the horses in training. We cannot guarantee at this stage that you will be able to also visit the racing stable, as it is still uncertain whether the trainers will be on site at this time.

The trip includes a free 45 min leisure walk through the beautiful Grafenberg forest, as the bus stop on site is only served on racing days. For those of you arriving by car, free parking spaces are available on site.

Notes

The area is at ground level but not paved everywhere. A bit of sand and dirt is to be expected.
