From time to time media report about a strange phenomenon: 15 to 20 % of human beings are said to be more receptive to environmental stimuli than others due to a different makeup of their nervous system. This is not supposed to be a disorder but a personality trait or a trait of temperament but still something which requires attention since certain adjustments to your lifestyle might be necessary if you are a "Highly Sensitive Person".
In this talk the speaker gives an introduction to the subject based on his personal experience: What does the construct say? Why might it be of interest in a life? What is science’s take? And what are the most prominent issues discussed amongst HSP? And, by the way, is there a correlation between giftedness and being highly sensitive?Please accept that we charge for this event in order to pay for the rent of the room. It would be unfair to include the rent into the base fee of the IBD+ 2025 making everyone pay for it instead of just those attending the presentations and workshops. Furthermore, experience from former annual gatherings in Germany have shown that if a presentation or workshop has a price tag rather those interested sign up for it thus offering them a better chance to get a slot. Thank you.
