Jaro Bláha

2 billion Google search results for "leadership", yet so few real leaders that can inspire others to achieve great (and sometimes terrible) things.

What is the origin of leadership – nature or nurture - and what makes the difference to managers? Does a military education help to lead or is it just good for a strong voice?

Historical examples, personal anecdotes, and a bit of organizational theory will not make you a leader but might answer whether you want to be one.

Short vita

As a technologist and computer science expert by heart, Jaro Bláha has 36 years of leadership experience across world-wide strategic initiatives and organizations, amongst others as a German Airforce Officer, NATO Chief Architect in Belgium, Chief System Design for ThalesRaytheonSystems in France, global program manager for logistic systems at DB Schenker, CIO of the Swiss electrical grid, global CIO/CTO for Solera Holdings in the US, and as the co-founder of a tiny AI startup.

Amazing leaders and terrible managers paved his path.

Notes

Please accept that we charge for this event in order to pay for the rent of the room. It would be unfair to include the rent into the base fee of the IBD+ 2025 making everyone pay for it instead of just those attending the presentations and workshops. Furthermore, experience from former annual gatherings in Germany have shown that if a presentation or workshop has a price tag rather those interested sign up for it thus offering them a better chance to get a slot. Thank you.
