The one-hour cruise on the Rhine is the perfect way to become acquainted with the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Whether you take a seat on the sundeck or in the saloon, a panorama cruise with KD through Düsseldorf is worthwhile in any weather.

On board our comfortable ships you explore the city on the Rhine from the river, and that means that you enjoy views and insights which you do not have from any other angle. The Old Town, Palace Tower and Media Harbour seem to glide peacefully past, and almost incidentally you learn all kinds of facts about the turbulent history of the city, which was once a royal residence, and which is now the political centre of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Directions (from IBD Hotel)

Travel time is about 85 minutes ... including some potential waiting time for the trains you will take
  • Take the foot bridge in front of Maritim Hotel towards the airport terminal C
  • Head for the local transport train station in the basement of terminal C "Düsseldorf Flughafen Terminal (S)"
  • Take the local train S1 or S11 in the direction of Düsseldorf central station "Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof" up to "Wehrhahn" (6 stops)
  • Take the tram U73 in the direction "D-Uni Ost/Botanischer Garten"
    Or the tram U79 in the direction "Duisburg Meiderich Bf"
  • Get off the tram at "Heinrich-Heine-Allee" and use the exit "Heinrich-Heine-Allee U" that is in the direction of the tram ride
  • Turn left relative to the route of the tram into "Bölkerstraße"
  • When after some 300m you reach an opel place turn right into "Burgplatz"
  • After some 80m turn left to remain on "Burgplatz"
  • You will reach the Rhine river's bank
  • Keeping to the right go onto the boat dock/pontoon and on that nearly to the end
