Decorations as far as the eye can see: In the "Haus des Karnevals" on Zollstraße, there are exhibitions on customs on three floors. Uniforms, medals, books and certificates as well as photos from over 60 years of Düsseldorf carnival are on display in the historic house.

The Commitee Düsseldorfer Carneval e.V. was able to acquire the historic - listed - house in the heart of the old town from the city of Düsseldorf in order to set up the office and a permanent exhibition there.

Since 2005, the "Haus des Karnevals" has housed the museum as well as offices. But anyone who expects a lot of frills, hullabaloo or a constant stream of carnival hits is wrong. The rooms are mainly filled with discreetly lit display cases, showcases, but also dolls with beautiful costumes. On the second floor, for example, you can see the photos of all the prince couples, and paintings of the CC presidents, including the now deceased museum initiator Günter Pagalies.

Travel time is some 60 minutes ...
unless you have to wait a bit longer for the S1/S11; but if you do not get there on time it is not a problem.
  • Take the foot bridge in front of Maritim Hotel towards the airport terminal C
  • Head for the local transport train station in the basement of terminal C "Düsseldorf Flughafen Terminal (S)"
  • Take the local train S1 or S11 to Düsseldorf central station "Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof" (5 stops)
  • Take the local train U75 in the direction "Neuss Hauptbahnhof"
    Or the local train U79 in the direction "Duisburg Duissern U-Bf"
  • Get off at "D-Heinrich-Heine-Allee" (3 stops)
  • Cross the wide street "Heinrich-Heine-Allee"
  • Proceed in the direction the train took ino "Flinger Straße" for 300m
  • Turn right into "Markstraße" and after 60m
  • Turn left into "Marktplatz" and continue for another 70m
  • You automatically get on "Zollstraße"
  • The destination is on the left-hand side
