Thomas Köster

Unfortunately, technological and economic expertise are usually underrepresented in the climate discourse. As a result, unsuitable or unfeasible approaches are frequently suggested.

This lecture explains relevant technological and economic principles and applies them to the climate crisis, identifying the three major levers for tackling the climate problem.

Finally, these levers are broken down at an individual level, offering options that actually make a difference. And these are other options than usually proposed.

Short vita

After studying mechanical engineering, Thomas Köster worked in various industry positions for over 20 years. Since 2023, he has have reduced his work hours in order to study the climate crisis and the technological solutions to it. Thomas incorporated the insights gained into lectures and other forms of climate communication.

Notes

Please accept that we charge for this event in order to pay for the rent of the room. It would be unfair to include the rent into the base fee of the IBD+ 2025 making everyone pay for it instead of just those attending the presentations and workshops. Furthermore, experience from former annual gatherings in Germany have shown that if a presentation or workshop has a price tag rather those interested sign up for it thus offering them a better chance to get a slot. Thank you.
