With bLuzLand, julakim invites you into a truly original soundscape where Rock, Pop, and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) merge in touching and surprising ways. Her music takes audiences on a journey through uncharted soundscapes, offering a rich auditory and visually immersive experience that opens new creative dimensions. www.julakim.de

A defining feature of julakim’s artistry is her multilingual voice: she writes and sings in Portuguese, French, Spanish, English, and German, crafting lyrics that connect across cultures and resonate on a deeply human level.

Earlier this year, bLuzLand was nominated for the German Record Critics' Award, a testament to its artistic quality and cultural relevance—even though it did not ultimately win.

What the press says:
“One woman. Six strings. No labels! julakim’s music challenges the listener by turning obstacles into springboards and adversity into wisdom. What ties her pieces together is the astonishing energy they convey.”
– Michael Behrendt, Johannes Breckner, and Nenes Butler presents

julakim also appeared as the cover artist for Germany’s MinD-Mag and was featured in international and French magazines following her 2023 grassroots tour across South America, made possible through SIGHT – inner-M’s couch surfing platform for Mensa members.

And for the curious minds among us:

The upcoming vinyl and cassette release of bLuzLand (November 1, 2024) includes the bLuz?-Landkarte – a foldable 70x100 cm map that doubles as liner notes and a Dadaist-inspired social game. Designed for explorers and playful thinkers alike, it invites fans to engage with the music through whimsical tasks, poetic puzzles, and philosophical provocations – a treasure map through the light universe of bLuzLand. Mensans are warmly invited to decode, interact, and reflect.

Short vita

Jula-Kim Sieber dwb, Architect and Musician – Mensa Member since 2015.

Jula-Kim Sieber is a diploma-certified architect (TU Dresden / ETSAM Madrid) and a free-spirited musician known as julakim. Her career bridges continents and disciplines – from ecological school buildings in Mali and architectural projects in Brazil to the complete renovation of the DAM – Deutsches Architekturmuseum (German Architecture Museum) in Frankfurt. She is the founder of ar2com – communicative architecture from Darmstadt, focusing on sustainable and culturally rooted design.

As chair of the Werkbundakademie Darmstadt, she co-initiated the campaign that led to Frankfurt RheinMain being World Design Capital 2026.

In music, julakim’s multilingual, genre-blending compositions push boundaries and explore human connection through sound. She thrives on playfulness, experimentation, and cross-disciplinary dialogue – always with a ludic spirit that sees the world as a space for creative and joyful transformation.

Notes

Please accept that we charge for this event in order to pay for the rent of the room as well as the sound system (the normal one for presentations in this room is not up to the job). It would be unfair to include the rent into the base fee of the IBD+ 2025 making everyone pay for it instead of just those attending the presentations and workshops. Furthermore, experience from former annual gatherings in Germany have shown that if a presentation or workshop has a price tag rather those interested sign up for it thus offering them a better chance to get a slot. Thank you.

We have three rooms for the presentations and workshops in DUS Conference Plus that can accommodate a different number of guests. We will swap rooms if the interest in the event suggests we do so.
