The open-air museum in Düsseldorf explains everything worth knowing about bonsai on an area of approx. 1500 square meters in the form of an educational trail.
In this way, bonsai is introduced not only to connoisseurs but also to interested laymen. There are more than 120 trees on display, some over 100 years old, in classic Asian or modern European designs.

Travel time is about 75 minutes ... including some waiting time for the trains you will take since being late is no option.
- Leave the Maritim Hotel through the main entrance on the ground floor next to the reception
- Turn left and walk past the staircase tower of "Parking 8" towards the airport building and enter it
- You are now on the arrivals level - follow the signs for "S-Bahn S11/Local trains"
- Just in front of McDonald’s, take the moving walkway down to the station
- Take the local train S6 or S11 in direction of Düsseldorf central Station "Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof (Hbf)" up to "D-Hamm S" (9 stops)
- If you are on the S6, please change to S8 or S28 at "Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof (Hbf)" in the direction of "MG Hbf/Europaplatz" or "Kaarst Kaarster See" resp.
- Get off the train at "D-Hamm S" and exit the station
- Follow the tram tracks to the left, and walk along "Am Kuhtor" for about 150 meters
- Turn right onto "Hammer Dorfstraße"
- After some 250 meters you will pass a small church on your right and a plaza to your left. Some 50 meters further on, the street will fork. Keep to the left to stay on "Hammer Dorfstraße" for another 350 meters
- When "Stippelburggasse" joins from the left, you see an open area and a sign on the right hand side.
- Follow the sign to "Bonsai Werkstatt" to the right to reach the destination
