Düsseldorf’s "Best-of-the-City"-Sightrunning tour is for all those who wish to cover the most important attractions around the city center in a sporty way:

Within about 1-1,5 hrs, your guide Steffi will take you along the Rhine river, through Media harbour and across Königsallee.

You will get to see parts of the historic origins of the former fishing village, explore iconic architecture in a former industrial harbor area, and run along the fancy shopping boulevard.

While the tour guide will entertain you with Düsseldorf stories and background information on the run, the tour will also include several short stops in selected places for more deep-dive.

We will respect the pace of the slowest person in the group. You should be able to run 6km in order to join the tour, and wear running gear.

Steffi will provide you with further leads on where to best run, eat, drink and shop after the tour.

Directions (from IBD Hotel)

Travel time is some 55 minutes.
  • Take the foot bridge in front of Maritim Hotel towards the airport terminal C
  • Head for the local transport train station in the basement of terminal C "Düsseldorf Flughafen Terminal (S)"
  • Take the local train S1 or S11 to Düsseldorf central station "Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof" (5 stops)
  • Take any of the the local subway lines with destination "Messe/Neuss" or "Duisburg" and get off at the station "Heinrich-Heine-Allee" (3 stops)
  • Find the exit "Bolkerstraße" and walk down "Bolkerstraße" into the Altstadt
  • After three blocks turn right onto "Burgplatz"
  • You'll reach an open space after passing between houses
  • Turn left there and the destination is on the left-hand side.
