HandelsblattWe have the rare opportunity to visit the editorial offices of "Handelsblatt" - a major German business and financial newspaper.
Behind the scenes at Handelsblatt:- 09:00 - 10:00
- You will take part in the morning editorial meeting and gain exciting insights into the current topic planning and discussions.
- 10:00 - 11:00
- The editor-in-chief Sebastian Matthes will be available for an open Q&A session – with room for (and the expectation of) questions about Handelsblatt, everyday editorial work, and his job as editor-in-chief.
- 11:00 - 11:30
- The visit will be rounded off with a tour of the newsroom and podcast studios.
Notes
Access to the editorial office is possible by wheelchair but every once in a while, the lift at the local train station is not operating and the stairs there are long. In addition, you'll need to pass over a foot bridge with ramps that might be a bit demanding.

The company requires a list of participants with first and last name and country of residence. If you book this event, you agree that we pass this data on to the Handelsblatt GmbH.

Directions (from IBD Hotel)
Travel time is about 40 minutes ... including some potential waiting time for the trains you will take.
- Leave the Maritim Hotel through the main entrance on the ground floor next to the reception
- Turn left and walk past the staircase tower of "Parking 8" towards the airport building and enter it
- You are now on the arrivals level - follow the signs for "S-Bahn S11/Local trains"
- Just in front of McDonald’s, take the moving walkway down to the station
- Take the local train S6 or S11 in direction of Düsseldorf central station "Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof (Hbf)" up to "D-Zoo" (4 stops)
- At "D-Zoo" take the stairs up to the bridge and turn right
- Descend using the spiral foot bridge on the right-hand side
- Once at the bottom cross underneath the bridge on "Toulouser Allee"
- The destination is at the corner of the building next to the bridge

Travel time is approx. 30 minutes
- Take the local train S1 or S11 in the direction Düsseldorf airport "Düsseldorf Flughafen" up to the station "D-Zoo"
- Then proceed as indicated above
