Helsinki Party

The Helsinki Party is a "standard offering" during an IBD meeting: A casual, informal get-together on Sunday evening for those not having left on Sunday.

Usually it is such that whoever happens by brings something to drink and the odd snack or asks the organisation committee to fetch something.

The party will mainly be a "stand-off"... meaning that most of the visitors will be standing which is perfect to move around and meet many others; there will be some chairs too certainly.

Rooms useable for this kind event are scarce and usually come at a price with a certain trade-off between the price and the effort to get there.

For that reason, we had a chat with Maritim Hotel for the nice and big IBD meeting room we have rented anyhow, is big enough and really well in reach.

The downside is that if we bring our own food etc., they expect a corkage fee ("Korkengeld"), unless we take up their offer to supply us with several fridges with beverages and some snacks - we chose the that offer since it makes things much easier for everyone (and the price is fair).

Please accept that we can party for four hours (only) - but the Maritim has a few bars so there is no need to hit the sheets at 23:00h already :‐)
