As the day draws to an end and the romantic alleys are illuminated by the glow of the lanterns, we will guide you through Düsseldorf's historic old town.

The night-watchman in his typical gown, is equipped with his hand lantern, horn and halberd. He tells you interesting tales and sometimes even spicy details about customs and everyday life of past times.

Look forward to interesting facts about the historical sights of the old town, when the watchman says: “Hark, ye folks….”

Notes

Due to a high amount of cobblestone pavement, the tour is not well suited for participants in a wheelchair.

Includes free entry to the City Museum on the SAME day as the guided tour with the ticket you'll receive from us upon check-in.


Directions (from IBD Hotel)

Travel time is some 65 minutes ... including some potential waiting time for the trains you will take.
unless you have to wait a bit longer for the S1/S11; but if you do not get there on time it is not a problem.
  • Take the foot bridge in front of Maritim Hotel towards the airport terminal C
  • Head for the local transport train station in the basement of terminal C "Düsseldorf Flughafen Terminal (S)"
  • Take the local train S1 or S11 to Düsseldorf central station "Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof" (5 stops)
  • Take the subway U70 in the direction "Krefeld Rheinstraße"
    Or the subway U75 in the direction "Neuss Hauptbahnhof"
    Or the subway U76 in the direction "Krefeld Rheinstraße" or "D-Lörick"
    Or the subway U77 in the direction "D-Am Seestern"
  • Get off at the station "Tonhalle/Ehrenhof" (4 stops)
  • Exit the station in the direction "Altstadt Kunstakademie Fritz-Roeber-Straße" and follow the footpath to the left up to street level
  • Cross "Fritz-Roeber-Straße" at the traffic lights and enter "Eiskellerberg" straight ahead
  • Follow "Eiskellerberg" for some 60 m
  • Turn right into "Eiskellerstraße"
  • After about 70 m the destination is on the right-hand side
