Login Issues

We are very sorry to lean that some of you have issues logging into our Booking system.

The quickest way is to send us an email to The.Herb@mensa.de - that is the dedicated account we set up for any booking issues.

But before doing so you might want to check these options - they might even be quicker...

On the login page you're asked to enter your userid and your password - easy one, one should think... well seems that not always!

 

Userid

In theory this one is simple, in reality it might not be - here's why (or so we think):

  • When you are Member of Mensa Germany you log in with your membership number prefixed by "049" for Germany - but you know that.
     
  • When you are not a member of Mensa at all your login is the email address you used when creating your account.
    Issue #1: If you change the contact email address in your account, your login does not change.
    Issue #2: If you do not remember that email address please send us an email so we can look it up for you.
     
  • When you are member of Mensa but not of Mensa Germany your login is the email address you used when creating your account....
    Issues #1 and #2 apply here too.
     
  • When you are member of Mensa but not of Mensa Germany and asked for an acocunt upgrade your login is your national membership number prefixed by your country code.
    Issue #3: The former login with email address does not work anymore, so you need to remember you asked for an upgrade
    Issue #4: As is common such international Mensa member guest accounts need to be re-activated annualy to ensure you're still a member in good standing.
    If unsure if your account is still enabled please send us an email so we can check and fix this for you.
     
  • You could certainly simply create a new account for yourself - perhaps not the best idea but what the heck 🙂
    Issue #5: When you creat a new account you can't use an email address that is already used on our system (in your non-working account)
    Again: Feel free to send us an email so we can check and fix this for you.
     
  • Oddly enough: It might be that you don't have an accout on our platform yet - that is you never set one up...
    So trying to simply create one might solve the whole mess - see "No Account yet" below for details..
    Again: Feel free to send us an email so we can assist.

 

Password

In case you just forgot your password visit the password reset page.

After entering your userid or email address you'll get an email.
Just enter your credentials and off you go... with a click on the Login button.

Please note that if your account has more than one contact email address any of those will work for a password reset so that in case your username is an old email address not working anymore but a valid one is stated as contact email address in your account you can still reset the password.
But for the login you need to specify the correct username as indicated above.

Issue #6: If no email address stored in your account is not valid you'll never get the password reset link (for obvious reasons).
Again: You want to send us an email so we can check and fix this for you.

 

No Account yet

Registration fails

The most common errur during registration is due to the fact that you already have an accout on our platform
In this case you get the error message indicating the email address is already used.

In this case try to login using that email address - if you forgot the password, please use the link for forgotten passwords.

If this does not work, then this can mean that your usern ame is not the email address you have in mind...
I can be an old email address, or at some time you asked for an upgrade of your account so that your user name is your country code and membership number.
Please us an email so we can tell you your user name and perhaps the email address associated; or assist fixing it.

 

None of the above

Perhaps odd that a Mensan admits he might have missed some issue but ...

No reply
