For most events we offer a guide that will pick you up at the Maritim Hotel and accompany you to the event. You may certainly decline this offer and head for the event on your own.
Especially for the events we offer in other towns like Cologne, Wuppertal etc. we do recommend visiting multiple events close by on the same day. You will need to find your way between events on your own, but you will save the travel time back and forth to the Maritim Hotel making more of the day.
No guide is planned for the events in Maritim Hotel as well as the lectures and workshops in the Airport Conference Centre. We are positively confident that you will be able to get there without assistance.
A group of walking Mensans usually needs twice the time you would need walking on your own. This has been reflected in the guided walking times, as well as some degree of tram/bus/train delays. So, if you start with your guide at the proposed time, you should arrive on time.
When booking events, you will not be able to book overlapping events, or the same event more than once - but you may certainly book two events where the time needed to get from one to the next might be too short to pass by Maritim Hotel to join the guide.
During the initial wishing phase these limitations certainly do not apply. The algorithm for allocating seats will ensure only, that you won't need to be at two different places at the same time. After the allocation, it is up to you to check that you have enough time to travel from one event to the next one.
Collisions...
In the booking confirmation you will get a note about these three types of collisions:
- The events overlap as for their time
- You booked the same event at different times (to increas your chance of getting a seat)
- The time to travel from one event to the next might be tight (this is based on you joining the guide at Maritim Hotel to get there)
Rest assured that the alogrithm will sort numbers 1 and 2 for you so you do not get the same event twice of have to be at different places at the same time.
The third collision is ignored by the algorithm allocating the seats so that that kind of collision is not blocking since you can more often than not travel from one to the next event directly.
