Self-made Trip

This event is without transportation and a car is needed to get to the racetrack; public transport is not an option for this destination.

The idea is that the odd guest is with car and some of the other guests can ride with her or him (and perhaps donate a bit cash for gasoline).

The Nürburgring: A Legendary Racetrack

The originally planned event Day Trip: Nürburgring Race Course & Ride with a Race Cab “Renntaxi” where we get a coach and pick you up at Maritim Hotel and return you there did not get enough interest so we had to cancel it - so early due to the deal we got offered.

Knowing on the other hand that this event is special we didn't want to cancel it completely but change it to allow less visitors participating - and leaving the job to get there to you.

The offer is similar to the event we had to cancel and the trips on offer can be seen on RaceTaxi at Nürburgring:
  • One to three People in a BMW M3 Competition
  • One Person in a Porsche 911 (992) GT3 RS

... and you need someone with a car to take you there since we will not supply a coach.

On the website of RaceTaxi at Nürburgring you can see that RaceTaxi trips during IBD+ are only available on Sunday every 15 minutes, but not on the Thursday thru Saturday.

Since driving there from Maritim Hotel takes two hours and you need to be at the racetrack 20 minutes before the ride and will need some time to park the car and walk there we're at some three hours travel time needed to get there so there is no rush.

For this reason, we suggest rides between 12:00 and 14:00 so you need not start before breakfast and have time for dinner as well as on in the afternoon after 15:00. We will offer this event twice - once for each of those two hour slots. Depending on when your taxi will start, you'll have some time before or after the ride to take a look in the souvenir shop on-site.

Parking is available opposite the Nordschleife access road / Devils Diner. There is a large gravel parking lot behind the ticket office, so you only have to cross the road to get to the RaceTaxi.

Important Notes

To ensure the safety of the racing cab passengers and to make your experience unique, a minimum age of 12 years or a height of 1.40 metres is required. Please note that a parent/legal guardian must be present if the person is under the age of 18 or the person requires written parental authorisation to ride. The maximum permitted weight for the ring taxis is 115kg per person. The maximum height is 2.00 metres.

Guests, who cannot control their arms/legs, e.g. due to paralysis, unfortunately cannot use the service of a racing cab, as the arms and legs cannot be fixed and can swing out.
Passengers who are unable to communicate due to an impairment should travel with a trusted person in the BMW instead of travelling alone in the Porsche 911.

Please note that the racing cab provider reserves the right to refuse a taxi round. The distribution of body weight and height may mean that participation is not possible. In case of any doubts about your participation please contact us in advance to check whether participation is possible.

The offer we make

The way this event works is that as soon as one RaceTaxi is filled - be it one person for the Porsche, or three for a BMW, or two for a BMW that are happy to pay for the then empty third seat, and we have enough seats in a car available for you to get there, we'll try to book a RaceTaxi and if it works, and then confirm the event - sorry, not cancellable then.

When booking please select the kind of RaceTaxi you want - if in case of a BMW you're ok with both options, please select the option "Either of the above BMW variants is ok for me"; well will then change it to the one we got for you.
And in the text field indicate if you can go there with your car and take others with you; please enter 0 there if you need a ride.

The Price will 400€ for those wanting to ride solo in a Porsche; in case of the BMW it is 381€ divided by the number of people so 127€ each if you're three and 190,50€ (that is pretty much what we have to pay when booking the tickets).

Alternatively, if you team up with others, you're certainly welcome to simply book the RaceTaxi by yourself instead of us doing so - it is your choice!

When booking this event, you confirm that once we reserve a RaceTaxi as detailed above you will pay for the ride - no cancellation possible - and that you fulfil the requirements listed above.

Join in for a thrilling ride at The Nordschleife – a driver's paradise with a speed of up to nearly 300 km/h!

The Nürburgring, located in the Eifel region of Germany, is more than just a racetrack; it's an iconic motorsport destination renowned worldwide. At the heart of the complex lies the legendary Nordschleife, a 20.832-kilometer circuit often referred to as “The Green Hell” due to its challenging layout and demanding nature.

Opened in the 1920s, the Nürburgring quickly gained a reputation for its demanding layout, featuring blind corners, elevation changes, and high-speed sections. It has hosted numerous Formula One Grand Prix events and continues to be a popular venue for various racing series, including the 24 Hours Nürburgring, one of the world's most gruelling endurance races.

The Nordschleife offers a unique driving experience unlike any other. Its combination of fast straights, slow corners, and elevation changes makes it a true test of a driver's skill. The circuit's length and varying conditions keep drivers on their toes and make every lap a new challenge.

Not being professional racers, we can experience the thrill of the Nordschleife during our driving sessions. You will team up, jump into a race cab and join a professional driver for some adrenaline goose bumps.

A lap around the Nordschleife in a race cab such as a BMW3 M3 Competition is included in the tour!

At the development centre, many car manufacturers test and develop their new vehicles at the Nürburgring to ensure they are up to the most demanding conditions.

The Nürburgring is more than just a racetrack. It's a destination with something for everyone. You are free to take your time time to discover The RingWerk being an interactive museum that tells the story of the Nürburgring, while the RingBoulevard offers a variety of stores and restaurants (food, drinks, entrance fees etc are not included in the tour)... assuming the driver of the car that brought you there is ok with that :‐)

Whether you're a hardcore motorsport fan or simply looking for a unique driving experience, the Nürburgring is a must-visit destination. Its rich history, challenging layout, and world-class facilities make it a truly unforgettable experience.

Notes

Please note that we have not reserved any cars - as soon as one car is "full", we'll try to get it booked as detailed above.

Directions (from IBD Hotel)

You need a car to get there - so please use your navi in the car. We recommend Google Maps since it knows well about congenstions and thus picks the fastest route.

The normal driving time is about two hours, but you need to plan time to drop your car and walk to the "Nürburgring Zufahrt Touristenfahrten auf der Nordschleife".

Furthermore please note that you're expected to be on-site 20 minutes before "takeoff" for a short introduction and fitting a helmet.

Driving time is probably some 2 hours; add to that the time to park the car and walk to the starting point etc.
