Group booking

Events that you can book for yourself as well as the odd additional person offer a field to state the number of seats as well as a text entry labelled "I book for me and (M-Nr or Email) - max x Pers.". Thus, if you want to go there with your friend set the seat count to two and indicate your friend in the text field. If you're a family of four you enter 4 seats and in the text field the other three.

Seats and People you book for

The example shown above is a booking for three people. The first person is the one booking and the other two are indicated in the "I book for me and..." field:

The second person has the membership number 04912900 (that number is the same as in the account of that person in our booking system). The third person is indicated by the email address – for non-Mensans this is the only way, but that person needs to have an account too.

I could have booked this event for up to 5 people since the text field label indicates that I may book for me and "max 4 pers.".

Hint: Since for the algorithm allocating the seats after the whishing phase Mensans have slightly better chances as a group you want the wish to be done by a Mensan. Form IBD+ 2025 the IBD delegates certainly have the edge.

Attention: You will only get the tickets for those you want to bring, if the number of seats and the additional people have been entered correctly.

No Input Field

If you can't set the number of seats the event can only be booked for yourself only – see Single booking only.

The additional people

Please enter the additional people you book for (i.e. not yourself) in the field labelled "I book for me and (M-Nr or Email) - max x Pers." in this format:

• The person booking may not be included in here since it is not an additional person since the person booking always gets a ticket.
• If possible (since nice and short) enter the membership number as used as userid in our booking system – that is the membership number in your country, prefixed by the country code.
  For the German member with number 12900 this would be 04912900.
• If the user's account is not that of a member, please enter the email address of that account (the primary communication email address, if there is more than one).
  In case of Mensa members outside Mensa Germany the account has not been upgraded to a member account with a number as username, use the email address please.
• As separator, please use the space character (i.e. not a comma or such, just the space character)
• Entries like "2 children" or the name of the other person is invalid.

In addition to you booking for others the ones you book for have to book the main event themselves too so that we have them in the list (and they pay the basic fee) – see below for details.

Field too short?

Unfortunately, the length of the field "I book for me and (M-Nr or Email) - max x Pers." is technically limited and some email addresses are long...

For this reason, we added a global field in the options for the main event labelled "Overflow for I book for me and (M-Nr or Email)" but that makes things slightly tricky... or easier

You may enter one or more people you book for in the same format as detailed above and those entries will be used if the people you stated with the event are not enough to match the number of seats.

Save Work

The aforementioned global field for those you book for can even make life easier for you:

If e.g. you want to book the odd event for you and your partner just enter your partner in the global "Overflow for I book for me and (M-Nr or Email)" field and in the different events for the two of you just set the number of seats to 2.
In this case the missing second person that was expected in the event's field "I book for me and (M-Nr or Email) - max x Pers." is automatically taken from the global field.

Those getting Booked for

Those who do not book any event themselves but are only included in group bookings need to book the main event in order to be registered as guest and to pay the basic fee for participation that will include the name tag and usually a ticket for local public transport.

These people thus need to book the event "Someone books everything for me by group bookings". This event is free of charge (but implies the base fee every guest must pay).

Note: If you book the aforementioned event and some others in addition no harm is done since this dummy event is free of charge.

Guest account

In case you book for someone without an account on our platform, please ask the person to register using the registration page.

Children, Food, and Other Options

In some cases, booking options are available to indicate the age of children to get reduced prices, or for a food choice, or whatever. Please look at the page Children prices and Options.

Fairness

It would be unfair if you book an event for yourself and your partner and vice-versa in order to increase your chances during the seat allocation.

The organisation committee reserves the right, to delete such wishes before the seats are allocated.
